  The service and food were spectacular, hence the reason this place is one of the top restaruants in Newfoundland. Yes the price might be a little high for some, but well worth it. Not a place to come to if you're looking for a burger or wings.

  I went here on a visit to Newfoundland from Toronto. I chose this place because the word on the street was that this restaurant won awards and was one of the best in the world. I can tell you it isn't even one of the best in Canada. Our hostess showed no genuine care and was not gracious or inviting. She did not make my guests feel comfortable but seemed more concerned with the show of what an upscale restaurant this was.
  
  The food was ok. I had crab pasta and the texture was good but the garlic in it was burnt and this burnt flavour was overpowering. Like my main course, this pasta was under seasoned. Our hostess for all her airs was not able to assist with wine selection at all, and seemed uninterested in giving much description of the wines or the food. For the mains course I had the duck. It was well prepared but very mediocre overall and comparable to much more afordable restaurants.
  
  Overall my recommendation is to give this one a pass. You can find similar or better quality food in a more welcoming environment for a much better price.

  Overpriced, overcooked and overrated. The food wasnt bad but it was extremely ho-hum mediocre. We had the five course taster. The bacon wrapped rabbit was dry and tasted like sports bar buffalo wings style fare. It was for a special evening so I didn't complain in order avoid making the whole evening an embarrassment. If it had been. myself alone I would have paid up and walked out and gone and had a decent meal elsewhere. The restaurant was nearly empty - no surprise given what was served. The service was five star excellent - so these comments are only about the food.
